The 4 bilateral Chambers:
are co-organizing the 5th Tourism Conference titled: “Northern Greece: A year-round destination”to be held in hybrid format on May 4th, 2022
The Conference makes a comeback, after 3 years of pandemic turbulence during which the local tourism industry has been repeatedly and severely hit. The virus outbreak, its successive mutations and now the war in Ukraine, pose significant hurdles to the sector’s recovery. Hence the event will focus on mapping the new business environment, highlighting changes in consumer behaviour and suggest adaptation strategies.
Moreover, as businesses will be required to adopt flexible strategies, endorse sustainable practices and make use of the appropriate technological solutions, the Conference will also focus on these parameters. Travel habits are now favouring the development of diverse forms of tourism and new destinations, thereby creating new opportunities. Northern Greece stands to benefit from these trends which can bring a more balanced tourism development and mitigate the overcrowding and saturation phenomena witnessed in well-known destinations.
